"Enjoy the little things,
for one day you may look back
and realize they were the big things."
Robert Brault

I see, reflected in a mirror not much bigger than my thumbnail,
pictures of my children
playing with their cousins.
I see a sculpture my dad made of his childhood dog, Rusty.
I remember that this little mirror,
now nestled in my printer's tray,
once sat on my grandmother's nick-nack shelf.
These little mementos of days past remind me to
pay attention to each
good moment that I'll live today.

  1. There seems to be more than one kind of reflection going on here. Nicely done!

  9. I like it so much,
it is more than a reflection,
I like the way how you framed it; little mirror with blurred vase on the right side and whole story in the reflection.
