11/20/15

There's the hint of a reflection in this Paris café window
on a beautiful, sunny day in 1994.
This city was our home for twelve years.
Other than stateside grandparent visits,
all of my babies' childhood memories live here.

My heart aches for Paris.
For all of those who know the terror that comes
when the sanctity and security of the place they call home
is shattered.

I'm so grateful for our cherished, Parisian memories.
For family and friends and all who will get an extra hug this week.
And I mourn with those who can no longer hug their own.

  1. So sad and tragic! It's become obvious that there is a very real war going on in Europe (a clash of cultures). I don't see an end in sight. Hopefully I'm wrong. Hold on to your memories.

I knew you would be deeply affected by the Paris attacks. I've probably spent less than 4 months total over the last ten years in Paris and it feels like my home away from home.

Anyway your picture is excellent a real classic!
